Whatever happens afterwards are only further strengthening and the remaining interconnections. It has been proven by experts’ world over repeatedly that the capacity for a child to absorb concepts and learning is the highest during these years of a human being’s life. What differentiates your school from others?
Bloom Hill Preschool is not a play home but a serious preschool where the child is educated and taught various skills. We follow a system where the child works with materials rather than toys and learns various skills such as sensorial, language, mathematics, cognitive, art, music etc. Our world class curriculum focuses on the holistic development of the child. The curriculum, materials and environment are set up in such a way such that the child enjoys learning and concepts stay with him for life.
What will my child learn in the school? Could you explain the curriculum?
The curriculum has been developed taking the best practices from several early childhood practices, especially from the Montessori method and multiple intelligences theory. The environment does not include a traditional blackboard and benches / desks. Children are taught in an environment where the materials are laid out at child level and the child learns while working with the materials. Each material has specific objectives that we would like to meet which in turn leads to development of a particular skill / interest in the child. The children typically sit on mats and work with educational materials on the low level desks or on working mats. Specific focus areas of curriculum cover practical life skills, Senso-motor skills, Socio-Emotional, art & creativity, Aptitude, logical and reasoning, cultural & environmental, language & maths etc.
How will I be able to see what my child does at your school? How will you give feedback? How are assessments / evaluations done?
We assess each child on various activities in the school on predefined levels. Assessment is done continuously throughout the year and we even do trend analysis to see if the child is continuously improving or if there is any regression in any activity. We conduct parent-teacher meeting regularly to discuss progress of each kid individually. Our assessment tools allow us to identify how much time kid spent on which activities throughout the year. In this way, we can find out the areas of interest in the child. Our activities are split into calendar months throughout the year through which we know exactly which activities are to be presented. Our curriculum is updated annually, and new activities are done every month. We also keep a parent’s observation day where the child’s parents can come and observe how the child works in the environment.
Do you have any kind of technology / audio visual aids in the school?
We do not encourage visual aids / technology for the preschool. It has been proven world over through various researches that technology actually has a detrimental effect on children rather than positive effect in the age group of 2-6 yrs due to passive learning style that technology promotes. It makes the children addicted to visual aids as well as slows down their responses. All our activities give hands-on experience to the kids than virtual one.
Where can I get admission after passing out from your preschool? Do you have any tie ups with the bigger schools?
Our curriculum is designed in such way that all our kids do not face any difficulty in getting admission to bigger schools once they complete their KG level from Bloom Hill Preschool. Our kids are so disciplined and prompt to answer any question that they do not face rejections wherever they take interviews. We closely work with some of the old & reputed schools in Nashik & recommend those only to parents based on boards they wish to chose for their kids.
How will you orient my child to the school? Will he be coming in 3 hours from day one or will you be giving a gradual orientation?
Each child will be gradually introduced to the environment where the first week, they may be coming in only for 1 hour and the timings will be gradually increased as and when they become comfortable in the environment. We encourage parents not to linger around after dropping the child as he / she will not be able to get adjusted to the school fast if he knows his / her parent is around. Teachers spend extra time with new kids in orienting them to the school by involving them in activities they like as well as doing group activities.
What if my child has some allergies / medicines to be administered? How will the school help?
Its Advisable that parents should give all such details to the school especially to teacher to take care of. School shall ensue to follow the same.
What is the number of students per class? How will my child get personal attention?
We do not take more than 30 kids per class. We also ensure that the teacher to child ratio is maintained so that no kid shall feel left out.
How will you handle scenarios where we need to prepare the students as well as parents for interviews in bigger schools in the future?
Since the education that the child receives in our school is far superior to anything else available in the market today, this itself will guarantee the success for the student in case of interview or any such procedure that the bigger schools may adopt.
What type of homework do we need to ensure the child does at home?
The curriculum is designed to ensure that the child learns at his / her pace and we do not burden the child with homework. We only insist to take little practice at home too in their workbooks at certain levels like KG.
